The purpose of this study to investigate the impact of leadership styles on teachers performance in primary schools in Nsit Ibom Local government Area.  To achieve this objective, the study adopted the survey research design. The population of the study consists of all the primary school teachers in the study area. Ten (10) teachers were randomly selected from six (6) primary schools. This gave a sample size of sixty (60) teachers. A structured questionnaire was used to obtained data from these sixty (60) teachers. The data collected were subjected to statistical analysis using chi-square. The result of the analysis revealed that there is a significant relationship between the head teacher’s leadership style and teaching effectiveness in primary schools in the study area. Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations are made: There is a need for head teachers to establish fair administrative policies well understood by teachers. The policies should be applied with fairness and openness to teachers in relation to the assignment of duties and appointment. The head teacher’s need to shift to a democratic approach to leadership for effectiveness so as to improve the attitude of teachers to work which will, in turn, lead to teaching effectiveness. The head teachers should be more flexible in adopting appropriate leadership styles with the creation of a collaborative working environment with a higher level of commitment, motivation, ownership, developing trust and healthier school cultures, facilitating a positive attitude of teachers to work, high productivity and teaching effectiveness. Problem-solving and management of competing forces must be the components of leadership styles of head teachers.
